Sad News - Councillor Chris Turley

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the recent passing of Councillor Chris Turley.
Chris will be remembered as a dedicated councillor who represented the people of The Nedge ward

and our parish with pride, kindness and integrity.
Chris became a borough councillor in May 2011 after moving to Telford with his late wife Judith and has

served his community for 13 years. He was a much loved and active member of his local community,

with an undeniable passion for conservation and wildlife which was demonstrated through his

commitment to numerous roles including Trustee of the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust and friend of

Telford Town Park and Randlay Valley.

In addition to being a Parish Councillor for Stirchley and Brookside, he also served as a Town Councillor for Great Dawley Town Council and Parish Councillor for Hollinswood & Randlay.
When he wasn’t attending meetings or volunteering, Chris could be found working in his allotment or spending time enjoying historical walks within the Borough.
Chris will always be fondly remembered as a highly valued member of Stirchley and Brookside Parish Council and Telford and Telford & Wrekin Council, who will be sadly missed, and our sincere condolences go out to his family, friends and close colleagues at this very sad time.
