Delivering the right homes for Telford and Wrekin
Creating thriving neighbourhoods for families, young people, and older residents.
Telford and Wrekin is growing, and we need homes that work for everyone. The Local Plan ensures new developments meet the needs of families, young people, and older residents, while also supporting thriving communities.
A mix of housing options – ensuring people can upsize, downsize, or get onto the property ladder
New family-friendly neighbourhoods with access to schools, healthcare, and green spaces
Supporting key workers like nurses, teachers, and emergency services with local housing
Specialist accommodation for older residents to help them stay in their communities
The Local Plan ensures high-quality housing in the right places, with modern energy efficiency standards to lower running costs and reduce carbon footprints.
The Telford and Wrekin Local Plan Review is open for comment until 5 May 2025. During this stage of the Local Plan, residents and stakeholders have a further opportunity to provide comments on the soundness of the plan before it is submitted to the independent nationally appointed Planning Inspector who will consider them alongside the need for any amendments to the plan before it is formally adopted.
